What kind of card to order?

  • User cards are assigned to employees who people who regularly have expenses such as travel, entertainment, or employee training.
  • Company cards are used by teams, departments or for project-based expenses, e.g. the Marketing team, or 'Project X'.
  • Plastic cards have a user or team name printed on them. They are available to use online instantly and are delivered in a few days.
  • Virtual cards are ideal for online purchases and are available to use online instantly.

How to order a new card for a user:

  1. Log in to the web app at manage.soldo.com.
  2. If you haven't created any users yet, you need to do this first in the Users section.
  3. Go to Cards and then click Create card.
  4. Choose from Create a company card for multiple assignees, or Create a card for an existing user for a single employee.
  5. If you chose Create a card for an existing user, select an existing user from the list.
  6. Select which type of card the user needs, i.e. plastic, virtual or fuel. For plastic or fuel cards, enter a delivery address.
  7. Select a wallet as the funding source from which the card draws money. Please note linking a card to a main wallet grants access to all Soldo funds, while company and user wallets are restricted. Consider linking cards to company wallets for teams or projects and user wallets for individuals.
  8. Check you’re happy with all the details and Confirm order.
Note: When you create a plastic card for one of your Users, you (Super admin) will receive a confirmation email so you can easily keep track of card orders. There's nothing you need to do when you receive this email.

Card Users don’t receive an automatic notification when a new plastic or virtual card is created for them. This gives you flexibility to share the details with your User in the way that works best for your organisation.

Once you've added users to your Soldo account, you're ready to start creating cards. By assigning cards to users, you give them access to company money while keeping full control and visibility over how funds are used.

With Soldo, you’re always in control. You decide:

  • Who can spend
  • What funds they have access to
  • How much they can spend, and how often
  • Where and how they can spend

What is a User card?

User cards are single-user cards. Each card is linked to one specific employee (user) and can't be transferred to someone else. Only the assigned user can use the card.

When to use: These cards are ideal for employees who spend regularly. For example, on travel, meals, or equipment.

If you need to create a card that will be shared by many users, take a look at this article: Create a shared/multi-user card (Company card).

  • Plastic - Suitable for users who need to make in-person purchases or withdraw cash from a cashpoint.
  • Fuel - Designed for vehicle-related spend, such as fuel, tolls, or charging.
Important: If you're creating a plastic or fuel card, make sure to check the delivery address before continuing. As standard, the card will be sent to your default Company address. If you need it delivered to a different company address or directly to the user, select the edit icon to choose the preferred address or add a new one.

  • Link to user wallet - Connect the card to the user’s personal wallet. You can transfer funds directly to that wallet.
  • Link to Company or Main Wallet - If you're on a Plus or Unlimited plan, you can link the card to a Company wallet. All plans can link cards to the Main wallet.
Tip: You can change the funding source later. For example, if you link the card to the Main wallet and later want to switch to a user wallet, you can do this from the Cards section in the card overview screen.
  1. Once you've chosen the funding source, select Next.
  2. Review your order details. If you need to make changes, click Edit next to the relevant section. When everything looks correct, click Confirm to create the card.

Note: When you create a plastic card for one of your Users, you (Super admin) will receive a confirmation email so you can easily keep track of card orders. There's nothing you need to do when you receive this email.
