After making funds available to your cards, you may choose to apply specific limits or rules to further control the spending on the card.
Soldo cards empower individuals or teams to make business payments wherever and whenever they need to. This includes travel and entertainment (T&E) costs, digital advertising, office supplies, and everything in between. You can set bespoke limits, rules and budgets for each card individually, suiting each user, and aligning with your procurement policy.
How to apply card rules
1. From the left-side menu, select Cards.
2. Choose the card that you want to manage.
3. Select the Rules tab.

What are card rules?
Card rules define how a Soldo card can be used. They give you control over:
- Where the card can be used (by country or region)
- What it can be used to purchase (by merchant category)
- How it can be used (such as contactless, online, or at ATMs)
You can tailor rules for each user, team, or department to reflect your internal spend policy. All rules take effect immediately and can be updated at any time.
Benefits of using card rules
- Improve spend control and compliance
- Reduce misuse or unauthorised payments
- Apply governance without slowing down teams
- Support different rules for different spend types
