Paying for Soldo
The way you pay for Soldo is divided into two components:
- Financial Services fees (debited automatically at the time of transaction)
- Software as a Service costs (billed on a monthly recurring basis)
Financial Services fees
We charge a fee for certain financial services such as card issuance and cash withdrawals. You can find a complete list of our Financial Services fees here.
We automatically deduct these fees at the time of transaction. For example, when you use a Soldo card to withdraw cash at an ATM. You can easily identify these fees by filtering your transactions using the transaction type filter labelled ‘Soldo financial fee’.
Software as a Service costs
Our Software as a Service costs refers to the monthly bill that you pay for using the Soldo expense management platform. Our billing works in arrears which means, for example, that you would pay for your usage in June at the beginning of July.
We’ll email your bill to the administrator on your Soldo account in the first week of every month with the subject ‘Soldo billing’. You’ll receive your first bill the month after you first deposit money into the main wallet of your Soldo account. So, if you make your first deposit in June, you’ll receive your first bill in July.
We automatically deduct the amount owed on your monthly bill from your main wallet.
Did you sign up to Soldo before April 2022?
On 4 April 2022, we launched new plans designed to give our customers the most value and best possible experience from Soldo. From 1 March 2023 , we began moving all customers who signed up before 4 April 2022 onto a new plan and discontinuing any legacy plans.
Please note that all the information included here is relevant to our new plans only.
How our Software as a Service costs are calculated
Our Software as a Service costs are as follows:
- Plan cost
- Additional usage cost
- VAT cost (when applicable)
Plan cost
This is a fixed amount that we charge according to the plan you’re on. You can find your plan cost in the ‘Plan’ section of your monthly bill.
Your monthly bill also outlines your plan inclusions, such as the users and cards included in your plan cost. We’ll apply extra charges to your bill if you use any additional resources that are over and above these plan inclusions. For example, if you add extra cards or users to your account.
If you’re on an Unlimited plan, your monthly bill might not outline all of your plan inclusions. If you need this information, please reach out to your dedicated Account Manager who will be happy to help.
Additional resource cost
At Soldo, we understand that your expense management needs will grow with your business. That’s why our usage-based pricing model allows you to flexibly access additional resources over and above your plan inclusions. These are:
- Users
- Cards
- Company wallets
- Recurring payments
- Temporary virtual cards
Any additional resources you use – for example, if you add extra cards or users – will be added to your monthly bill on top of your plan cost. You’ll be charged for any additional resources that were on your Soldo account for two days or more (counted from midnight) in a month. You can find these costs in the ‘Additional resources’ section of your bill.
VAT cost
Our Software as a Service pricing may have VAT applied, depending on your company’s country of incorporation. Our default VAT pricing is as follows:
- 20% for UK customers
- 22% for Italian customers
- 0% for exempt customers
Frequently asked questions
When will I receive my first monthly bill?
We’ll send you your first bill the month after you first deposit money into the main wallet of your Soldo account. If you make your first deposit in the middle of the month, the Software as a Service component of your bill for that month will be pro-rated accordingly.
How does a Soldo free trial work?
A Soldo free trial allows you to access the Soldo platform without having to pay any Software as a Service costs. You’ll still be charged Financial Services fees for certain transactions such as cash withdrawals.
Your free trial starts on the day you open your Soldo account and expires after 30 days. When your free trial expires, you’ll automatically transition to a paid plan. You’ll receive your first pro-rated bill the following month, and a standard bill every month thereafter.
How do I pay my Software as a Service costs?
Your Software as a Service costs refer to the monthly bill that you pay for using Soldo. We automatically deduct your Software as a Service costs from your main wallet in the first week of every month in your registered market currency. You can easily identify these costs by filtering the transactions on your main wallet using the transaction type filter labelled ‘Soldo subscription fee’.
Please make sure that your main wallet has sufficient balance to cover your monthly bill to avoid any service disruptions.
How can I see my monthly bill?
We’ll email your bill to the administrator on your Soldo account in the first week of every month with the subject ‘Soldo billing’.
You can also get your monthly bill by filtering the transactions on your main wallet using the transaction type filter labelled ‘Soldo subscription fee’. This transaction will have your bill linked to it as an attachment.
How long do my plan inclusions last? Are they for the duration of the plan?
Plan inclusions are the features and services included in your plan cost such as users, cards, and wallets. These last the duration of your plan based on their presence during the month. However, one-off additional resources such as temporary virtual cards are reset every month.
Is there a limit on the number of users I can have on my Soldo plan?
No, there’s no limit on the number of users you can have on your plan.
Why am I being charged more for some users than for others?
Some of our plans offer you the flexibility to pay per user role. In other words, you’ll pay a different amount for an account administrator than you will for a regular employee.
I haven’t used additional resources over and above my plan inclusions. Why can I see additional resources costs on my monthly bill?
You’ll be charged for any additional resources that were on your Soldo account for two days or more in a month. It might be the case that at the end of the month, you don’t have any additional resources on your account. However, if you did have additional resources for at least two days earlier in that month, we’ll add these to your bill. You shouldn’t see them again in your next monthly bill.
For example: if you create a user on 2 February and delete that user on 10 February, the cost of adding that user will be added to your bill for February (the current month). You won’t be charged for that user again in March (the next month).
One of my users is an employee. Why am I being billed for that user as a manager?
It might be the case that you changed that user from a manager to an employee towards the end of the month. Our role-based pricing is calculated on the role that the user had for the longest period of time in a month.
So, if you changed the user to an employee in the last few days of the month, it’s likely that you’re being charged for the user as a manager because they had that role for a longer period of time. You’ll be charged for that user as an employee from the following month.
