For your convenience, Soldo cards renew automatically to ensure you can keep spending.
On the first day of the month before expiration, Soldo sends the Super admins a reminder email, advising them of any cards that will expire in the following month and are therefore due for renewal. For example, if a Soldo card is due to expire on 30 May, Soldo sends Super admins a reminder email on 1 April.
As well as the reminder email, Super admins can see a banner saying ‘This card will expire soon’ above the Overview tab of the specific card in the web app.
In the Cards section of the web and mobile app, Super admins, admins, and employees can see a yellow badge labelled ‘About to expire’ next to the card name.
Renewing plastic cards
Before a plastic Soldo card renews, users should check if the delivery address is still correct. Super admins and admins can update the delivery address for any plastic card, while employees can update the address for any user card assigned to them. Users can edit the address up until the last day of the month before it expires.
For example, if a card is due to expire on 30 May, the delivery address can be edited until 30 April. After this date (e.g. 1 May), renewed plastic cards are issued and sent directly to the user.
Renewing virtual cards
Virtual cards are automatically renewed on the same date as expiration, with the card details updated within the Soldo web and mobile apps.
If you’d like to renew a virtual card before this date, click Renew card now on the card details page. This option is available from the first day of the month before expiry until the expiry date. For example, if the card expires on 30 May, you can renew it early from 1 April.
How can I cancel a Soldo card renewal?
We understand that company spending needs change, and a Soldo card may no longer be needed, particularly if an employee has left the company. Super admins and admins have the option to cancel any card renewal, and employees can cancel their own card renewal.
Please note that for plastic cards, is option applies for 2 weeks in the month before expiry (for example, 1 April – 15th April for a card that expires on 30 May). After this time, a new plastic card is issued and sent for delivery, so you can no longer cancel the card renewal.
Cancelling a card renewal on the web app
- Navigate to the Cards section on the main menu
- Select the card that is expiring soon
- On the card details page, click Cancel card renewal
If you change your mind, you always have the option to renew the card before or after a card expires. Simply select the card and click Renew card.
What’s the cost of a card renewal?
Renewing a Soldo card has the same issuing cost as creating a new Soldo card. This cost and how many cards you can have per Soldo account depends on your Soldo plan. See our pricing page for details.
Super admins receive an estimated cost of renewing cards within their reminder emails a month before expiry. This cost will decrease if any card renewals are cancelled.
Which roles have permission to edit delivery addresses or cancel a card renewal?
Super admins and admins can edit the delivery address and or cancel automatic renewals of any user card within the company. Employees can edit the delivery address and or cancel the renewal of their own user cards.
