Deposit money into your Soldo account

To begin using Soldo and experiencing the benefits of the platform, you will first need to deposit money into your Main wallet.

Tip: A Main wallet in Soldo is a 'default' wallet to store your company money. It is automatically created for you upon creating your account. The default Main wallet will be created in the currency based on the country of the account holder.

Deposit money into your Soldo account

Deposit via GBP Main wallet

Faster Payments - BACS

Use the account number and sort code to deposit money from a UK bank account to your GBP wallet. Your deposit should appear instantly but might take up to 2 working hours.

IBAN

Use the IBAN and BIC to deposit money into Soldo from your company’s bank account. It can take 1-2 days for GBP deposits to appear in Soldo.

Important: You must enter the reference number in the custom reference field when depositing money to your Soldo account. You'll find the reference number listed in the information panel under the IBAN tab.

Direct deposit

Within Soldo’s web app, a direct deposit lets you make a secure money transfer into your main wallet, directly out of your bank account through Open Banking. A temporary connection is made to your bank account each time you make a direct deposit into Soldo. We don’t have access to your transaction data. A direct deposit is sent as a Faster Payment so is usually instant, but can take up to 2 hours to appear in Soldo.

Deposit via EUR Main wallet

IBAN

Note: This deposit option is suitable only for transfers in euro between banks operating in the SEPA scheme.

Use the IBAN and BIC to deposit money into Soldo from your company’s bank account. It can take 1-2 days for EUR deposits to appear in Soldo.

International payment

Note: This deposit option is suitable only for SWIFT transfers from foreign currencies to euros and from a bank outside the SEPA scheme.

Use the IBAN and BIC to deposit money into Soldo from your company’s bank account. It can take 1-4 days for EUR deposits to appear in Soldo.

Important: You must enter the reference number in the custom reference field when depositing money to your Soldo account. You'll find the reference number listed in the information panel under the International payment tab.

Direct deposit

Deposit via USD Main wallet

IBAN

Use the IBAN and BIC to deposit money into Soldo from your company’s bank account. It can take up to 2 working days for USD deposits.

Important: You must enter the reference number in the custom reference field when depositing money to your Soldo account. You'll find the reference number listed in the information panel under the IBAN tab.

The default Main wallet will be created in the currency based on the country of the account holder. The default Main wallet is also know as the Billing wallet.

If you're a Plus or Unlimited plan customer, you'll be able to activate additional currencies. We currently support the GBP, EUR and USD currencies. For each currency that you activate, we'll automatically create a new Main wallet for that currency.

Deposit money into your Soldo account

Important: To avoid delays, always use the exact details shown in the deposit info section. This helps your deposit pass important checks like Confirmation of Payee and Verification of Payee. Pay close attention to the beneficiary name. If it doesn't match exactly, the payment might be delayed or rejected by your bank.

You can deposit funds into your Soldo account at any time. Follow the steps below to get started.

  1. Select Wallets from the navigation menu.
  2. Select Main wallets.
  3. Click on Deposit money.

Note: This will take you directly to the deposit section for your default Main wallet (also known as the Billing wallet).

If you're using multiple currencies and want to deposit money into a different Main wallet, select the wallet from the list first. Then click the Deposit info tab.

  1. Choose your deposit method. Follow the instructions provided to complete the deposit. For details on available deposit options, see the section below.

Deposit methods

Faster Payment/BACS

Note: Before making a Faster Payment, check if your bank supports the scheme. If not, your money will be refunded within 5 working days.

You'll find all of the information you need to make a deposit using Faster Payment/BACS under the Deposit info tab such as:

  • Beneficiary
  • Sort code
  • Account number
Tip: To speed up your transfer, use the beneficiary name shown in the beneficiary field while transferring money.

Faster Payments usually arrive instantly but can take up to 2 hours to appear in Soldo. BACS transfers take 24-48 hours.

IBAN

Important: You must enter the reference number in the custom reference field when depositing money to your Soldo account. You'll find the reference number listed in the information panel under the IBAN tab.

If you're an EU customer, please be aware that this deposit option is only suitable for euro transfers between banks that are part of the SEPA scheme.

A Direct deposit is usually instant, but it can take up to 2 hours to appear in Soldo.

SEPA transfers should take 1-2 business days to appear in Soldo, but may take longer depending on your bank. Usually they’re free, but some banks might charge a fee for this transfer.

SEPA Instant transfers take less than 10 seconds to complete. Usually they’re free, but some banks might charge a fee for this transfer.

To use the Direct deposit method:

  1. Click on the Make direct deposit option.

  2. Select the country where your bank is located.
  3. Choose your bank from.
  4. Follow the guided instructions to create the secure temporary connection with your bank and complete the deposit.

International payment

Important: You must enter the reference number in the custom reference field when depositing money to your Soldo account. You'll find the reference number listed in the information panel under the International payment tab.
