Temporary virtual cards are designed for one-off spend. They're perfect if you don't need to spend regularly and only need to make the occasional purchase. You can submit a request for a temporary card using the Soldo web and mobile apps. Once approved, you’ll receive a virtual card limited to a specific amount and number of transactions, perfect for things like travel bookings, equipment purchases, or project expenses.
After you submit your request, the assigned reviewer will be notified by email. If approved, you’ll receive confirmation along with any reviewer notes. You’ll also receive a separate email with instructions to activate your temporary card so you can start spending.
Requesting a temporary virtual card on the web app
- From the left-side menu, select Requests.
- Select Make a request.
- Choose I wish to make a payment — this lets you request a temporary virtual card for a one-off purchase.

Select the appropriate request type.
Note: Your company might offer different request types. Choose the one that fits your situation. - Add the request details: a clear title, short description, estimated spend, and the maximum number of transactions you’ll need to make.
- When you're ready, select Send request.
Requesting a temporary virtual card on the mobile app
- Tap Account from the bottom navigation, then select Requests.
- Tap Create a request.
- Choose I wish to make a payment to request your virtual card.

Select the request type that applies.
Note: If you’re unsure which type to choose, check with your manager or finance team. - Enter the request details — title, description, amount, and number of transactions required.
- Tap Send request.
What happens after you submit your request?
Once submitted, the reviewer(s) set in your company’s workflow will be notified by email. They’ll review your request and may approve or deny the request.
If your request is approved:
- You’ll receive a confirmation email, including any notes added by the reviewer
- You’ll receive a second email with details of your pre-approved spend
- This second email also includes instructions to activate your temporary virtual card
You can then activate your card and start spending within the approved limits. Be sure to upload a receipt or invoice for each transaction once you’ve made a payment.

- Choose Make a payment for Goods or Services

- Enter the number of transactions you'll need to make (between 1 and 10), then select Next.
- Include any additional details and attachments to support your request, the select Next.
- Review the details of your request and, when you're ready, select Send request.
