Create a temporary virtual card without a request

If your Soldo plan doesn't include the Requests feature, you can still issue temporary access to company funds. Use the Pre-approved spend feature to create a temporary virtual card for a specific user, with a fixed amount and clear transaction limits.

Note: You can only create pre-approved spend using the Soldo web app.

How to create a pre-approved spend

  1. From the navigation menu, select Pre-approved spend.
  2. Select Create spend.
  3. Enter the spend details, including a description to help you and the assignee understand the purpose of the card.
  4. Select the assignee - the employee who will use the temporary virtual card.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Choose the wallet from which the funds will be drawn.
  7. Set the total amount the assignee can spend on the card.
  8. Decide how many transactions (1–10) the assignee is allowed to make using this card.
  9. Select Next.
  10. If needed, upload any supporting documents for this spend, then select Next.
  11. Review all the details carefully, then select Confirm to create the card.

What happens next?

The assignee will receive an email with the details of the pre-approved spend. This includes the title and description, the authorised amount, the number of approved transactions, and instructions on how to activate their temporary virtual card.

Once the card is activated, they can spend within the approved limits and upload receipts or invoices for each transaction directly in the web and mobile apps.

Note: Temporary virtual cards automatically expire 7 days after activation. They can’t be used after this. We recommend activating the card only when the assignee is ready to spend.
