Every transaction in Soldo is assigned a merchant category code (MCC). Sometimes, due to incorrect merchant configurations, it's possible for a small number of transactions to be misclassified. For example, a non-fuel transaction being classified as a fuel transaction and vice versa. Previously, this misclassification could only be corrected by contacting Soldo.

How does it work?
Changing from Fuel to Non-fuel
If a transaction is incorrectly categorised as a Fuel transaction, you can change it to a Non-fuel transaction.
This will:
- Remove any fuel-related fields from the transaction (e.g. Vehicle, Fuel type, Fuel quantity, Unit price).
- Remove any previously entered fuel-specific details from the transaction.
- Ensure that the transaction will no longer appear in Reports > Fuel and Invoices.
Changing from Non-fuel to Fuel
If a transaction is incorrectly categorised as a Non-fuel transaction, you can change it to a Fuel transaction.
This will:
- Make available any fuel-related fields for the transaction (e.g. Vehicle, Fuel type, Fuel quantity, Unit price).
- Ensure that the transaction will now appear in Reports > Fuel and Invoices.
Things to know
- You can change the category of any Authorised or Settled payment card transaction.
- Transactions that have been paired with an electronic invoice can't be changed.
- You can re-categorise transactions from any section of the Soldo web app or mobile app that displays transactions.

How to change the fuel category for a transaction?
From any section of the web app that displays transactions:
- Select the transaction.
- Select the dropdown next to Transaction Category.
- Choose from:
- Fuel transaction
- Non-fuel transaction
Can I change the fuel transaction category using the mobile app?
Yes, if you have the feature enabled, you can edit the transaction in both the web app and mobile app. In the mobile app, from any section that displays transactions:
- Tap on the transaction.
- Select the dropdown for Transaction Category.
- Choose the correct category and tap Confirm.
