What are card rules?
Card rules define how a Soldo card can be used. They give you control over:
- Where the card can be used (by country or region)
- What it can be used to purchase (by merchant category)
- How it can be used (such as contactless, online, or at ATMs)
You can tailor rules for each user, team, or department to reflect your internal spend policy. All rules take effect immediately and can be updated at any time.
How to apply card rules
- From the navigation menu, select Cards.
- Choose the card you want to manage.
- Go to the Rules tab.
- Apply the rules you want for this card.
Changes are saved automatically and take effect immediately.
Types of card rules
Merchant categories (MCC)
Allow or block spending with specific types of merchants. For example, block entertainment or allow only travel or fuel.
Geo control
Enable or disable the card in specific countries or global regions. Learn more about Geo control
Online payments
Allow or block online spending with a plastic card.
Contactless payments
Enable or disable contactless payments.
Cash withdrawals
Control whether the card can be used to withdraw cash at ATMs using Chip and PIN.
Magstripe withdrawals (24 hours)

Auto-lock after one transaction
Automatically lock the card after a single transaction. This is useful for temporary or one-time use cards.
