A card’s funding source is the place it draws money from. Whenever you create a Soldo card, you will be asked to link it to a specific wallet (ex. Main wallet, company wallet, user wallet, etc.). The card will then draw money from that wallet, unless you change the funding source.
Here’s how to see the cards linked to a given wallet:
- Select the Wallets section from the menu on the left, and pick the wallet type
- Click on the relevant wallet from the list
- In the next screen, select the Linked cards tab
Sometimes it may be necessary to change a card’s funding source. In other words, the wallet the card is linked to must be changed to ensure that the card never runs out of money (ex. you want to change the funding source of your card from a Company wallet to a Reserved wallet so that the money will be dedicated to that specific card only and not shared with other cards).
Here’s how to change a card’s funding source in the web console:
- Select the Cards section from the menu on the left
- Pick the card whose funding source you want to change
- In the Overview tab, click on the three dots in the top right corner
- In the resulting pop-up, select Change wallet
- Pick the type of wallet you want the card to draw money from
- Select from the wallets displayed in the lower half of the page, and click Next
- Click Confirm
The ability to change the funding source of a card comes with several benefits. Admins no longer have to manually check whether individual users have enough funds on their cards. Furthermore, Admins won’t have to transfer funds to users sporadically. Lastly, the ability to change a card’s funding source eliminates the possibility of users competing for the same pot of money.
