Create a shared card for team, department or project (Company card)

With Soldo, User cards are assigned to employees and used primarily for user-specific expenses, such as travel or employee training; whereas Company cards can be used for specific or project-based expenses, such as 'Advertising' or 'Project X'.

Here's how you can order a new company card:

  • Log in to the web console at manage.soldo.com.
  • Click on Cards from the left-side menu.
  • Select Create card.
  • Enter the required information regarding your company card, then select Next.
  • After selecting the wallet this card will draw the funds from, set the assignees that will be able to see and use the card.
  • Select Confirm Order.

Additionally, when Super Admin creates a card, they will have the option to select the currency of the card.

Company cards are multi-user cards. These can be shared by several users, making them ideal for teams, departments, or projects where multiple people need access to shared funds.

When to use: Choose a Company card when you need to enable group spending. For example, for a team budget or a short-term project.

Whether you choose a User card or Company card, you’ll always have the tools to manage spend in real-time and stay in control of your company’s money.

Note: You can’t change the card type once it’s created. For example, a Company card can’t be converted to a User card later.
  1. Choose the card format:
  • Virtual - Best for users who only spend online. These cards can't be used in-store or at cashpoints.
  • Plastic - Suitable for users who need to make in-person purchases or withdraw cash from a cashpoint.
  • Fuel - Designed for vehicle-related spend, such as fuel, tolls, or charging.
Important: If you're creating a plastic or fuel card, make sure to check the delivery address before continuing. As standard, the card will be sent to your default Company address. If you need it delivered to a different company address or directly to the user, select the edit icon to choose the preferred address or add a new one.
  1. Enter a card name (Max. 20 characters). For example, this may be the name of the team, department or project. If you've selected a plastic card, the card name will be printed on the card.
  2. If you're on a Plus or Unlimited plan and using multiple currencies, select the currency you want the card to use. If your account is set up for a single currency, your default currency will be pre-selected. Just click Next to continue.
  3. Choose how you'd like to fund the card:
  • Create 'Reserved' wallet - Create a wallet to be used exclusively by this card. You can transfer funds directly to the card.
  • Link to Company or Main Wallet - If you're on a Plus or Unlimited plan, you can link the card to a Company wallet. All plans can link cards to the Main wallet.
Tip: You can change the funding source later. For example, if you link the card to a Company wallet and later want to switch to a reserved wallet, you can do this from the Cards section in the card overview screen.
  1. Once you've chosen the funding source, select Next.
  2. Decide who will use the card. Click Add assignees to select the users who will get access to this card. You can add and remove assignees from a Company card at any time from the Cards section. If you prefer to create the card and add assignees later, you can simply click Skip this step.
  3. If you're using Groups, you can choose to assign the Company card to a group. Select the dropdown and choose the relevant group. Any transactions made with this card will automatically be tagged with the group, giving you better visibility of team or project spend.
  4. Click Next to continue.
  5. Review your order details. If you need to make changes, click Edit next to the relevant section. When everything looks correct, click Confirm to create the card.

Plastic cards are delivered within 5 to 8 days. Both virtual and plastic cards are available to use immediately for online purchases. So even if you’ve ordered a plastic card, your team can start spending online right away. There's no need to wait for the card to arrive.
