In a nutshell, Soldo’s updated version (as of April 2021) introduces the company cards feature to replace the previous expense centres (and their associated cards). Company cards are dedicated to handling shared and company expenses.
This change means you’ll no longer see the expense centres area in the left side menu. Instead, cards from the expense centres are migrating to the new ‘Cards’ area. Also, wallets from the expense centres are migrating to a dedicated wallets area named company wallets.
A more intuitive Soldo
We made this diagram to show you how the updated version of Soldo simplifies your Soldo experience:
Soldo’s updated version converts expense centre elements into their new equivalents. This is how we’re doing it in practice:
CARDS
All expense centre cards become transformed into company cards. These company cards are connected to the transformed wallet.
WALLETS
All expense centre wallets become transformed into either of these 2 new types of Soldo wallets:
- COMPANY WALLET – if an expense centre's wallet has 0 cards, or 2+ cards connected to it, then it transforms into a company wallet. A company wallet is a shared wallet that can be used flexibly to feed multiple cards.
- RESERVED WALLET – if an expense centre's wallet is connected to just 1 card, then it transforms into a reserved wallet. In this case, in the updated version of Soldo you’ll simply see the balance of the card connected to the reserved wallet (but you won’t see it referred to as a reserved wallet, we just want to let you know how things work under the bonnet). In the updated version of Soldo, you’ll only see the term ‘reserved wallet’ when you’re creating a new card.
