To start using the cards that you've created, you must first transfer funds to the card's connected wallet. This gives you greater control over user spending by ensuring that the card can only access the funds that you choose to transfer to the wallet.

Note: If you chose "Main Wallet" as a funding source when creating a card, users will be given full access to all of the money in that wallet.

One-off immediate transfer from a Main wallet

1. From the left-side menu, select Wallets and then select Main wallets.

2. Select the wallet that you want to transfer funds from.

Tip: You can only have 1 Main wallet per currency. For example, if your Soldo account has multiple currencies activated, you will find a wallet entry for each of those currencies. If you only have a single currency, you will only find a single Main wallet.

When you create a card in Soldo, it must be connected to a funding source. This determines which wallet the card will pull money from when a payment is made.

Funding sources for User and Company cards

The available funding sources depend on the card type and your Soldo plan:

User cards

  • User wallet – A personal wallet linked to the user. You can transfer funds to it as needed.
  • Main wallet – The card has access to the full balance of the Main wallet (subject to any spending rules or limits).
  • Company wallet – Available on Plus and Unlimited plans. Use this for team or department-level budgets.

Company cards

  • Reserved wallet – A dedicated wallet that only funds this specific Company card.
  • Main wallet – Full access to the Main wallet (spending limits and card rules still apply).
  • Company wallet – Available on Plus and Unlimited plans.
Important: To enable a card to be used, the connected wallet must contain sufficient funds. If the card is linked to the Main wallet, no manual transfer is needed but we recommend setting up spending rules and card limits to stay in control.

Set up automatic transfers

Who: Super admins and Admins. (+ Limited admin and Leaders for Plus and Unlimited Company wallet transfers.)
Pricing plan(s): All. (Plus and Unlimited for Company wallet automatic transfers.)

To reduce manual work and keep wallets consistently funded, you can set up automatic transfers. There are two types:

1. Periodic transfers

  • Automate transfers on a set schedule - daily, weekly, or monthly.
  • You can top up by a set amount or bring the wallet up to a specific balance.

2. Low balance transfers

  • Trigger a transfer when the wallet balance drops below a defined amount.
  • Set caps on daily, weekly, or monthly transfer limits to maintain control.

You'll find the option to set-up periodic or low balance transfers under the Transfers tab for your chosen wallet.

Automate transfers with presets

Who: Super admins and Admins.
Pricing plan(s): Unlimited.

If you're on an Unlimited plan, you can use auto-transfer presets to apply the same top-up rules across multiple wallets at once.

This is ideal for larger organisations that want to scale wallet funding while keeping consistent rules in place.

Each preset includes:

  • Transfer type (periodic or low balance)
  • Top-up rules (amounts and thresholds)
  • Source wallet (e.g. Main or Company wallet)
  • The list of wallets the preset should apply to

Once assigned, the preset automatically manages top-ups based on your rules. You can edit, reassign, or remove presets at any time.
