Identity verification is when we’ll ask you to provide additional information to confirm your identity. If you’re required to complete an Identity verification check, we’ll send you an email letting you know and we’ll prompt you when using the Soldo web and mobile apps. You can follow the link in the email or in the product to provide any additional information we require.
Note: To complete the identity check, we use Onfido, a trusted, independent identity verification provider. You can learn more about our identity verification provider, Onfido, here: Digital identity made simple.
Why do I need to complete an Identity verification check?
Soldo is a regulated Financial Institution and has a legal obligation to comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements by performing due diligence processes on our customers.
To fulfil these legal obligations, we need to request certain information by asking you to complete an Identity verification check.
Who needs to complete an Identity verification check?
Most users you invite to Soldo will need to complete an identity verification check.
For example, if you invite someone using the standard role profile “Employee - Full Access”, they’ll be able to:
- View card details for assigned Company or User cards
- View card PIN for assigned Company or User cards
- Add cards to Google and Apple Pay
- Receive authorisation to make Bank transfers
Note: This list is provided for reference only. It shows examples and does not cover all the available features or all actions that might require identity verification.
Because of the access they’re granted, we’ll need them to complete an identity verification before they can start using Soldo.
We’ll send them an email with a link to complete the check. If they’ve not completed the check and attempt to log in to Soldo, we’ll also prompt them:
Note: If you’ve invited a user and they’re only assigned a single role that requires an identity verification check (e.g. Employee - Full Access), they won’t be able to log in until the check has been completed. If a user has multiple roles and only 1 role requires an identity check, they’ll still be able to log in with the role that has no identity check requirement.
