What is a ready-to-use card?

Plastic cards are sent via standard post and can take up from 5-8 business days to arrive to the address you specified when ordering them. By default we'll ship the card to your default Company address. If you need to ship the card to a different address or directly to your cardholder, you can specify this when you create the card. For more information, see: Set the delivery address for Plastic cards.

If you need your cards sooner than this, we can ship via DHL express at additional cost – just ask your Soldo representative for a quote.

Use your cards instantly

You can use your physical cards as soon as you create them. Spend instantly online or via Apple Pay and Google Pay – no need to wait for your cards to be delivered.

All newly created physical cards and replacement lost, stolen, or broken cards will be active as soon as you create them, so you can use them instantly.

There are three types of spend you can instantly make with a plastic card, whilst you wait to receive the delivery of it:

  1. Online only - includes 3DS protection - will require user to authenticate every time until the physical Chip/Pin transaction has occurred once the card has been received.
  2. Google Pay - additional authentication is needed when adding the card to Google Pay.
  3. Apple Pay - additional authentication is needed when adding the card to Apple Pay.

The exceptions to this are physical renewal cards you order to replace expired cards. You won’t be able to use these until they’re delivered, and you’ll still need to activate them manually when they arrive. To find out how to activate a renewal card, see this article: How do I activate a card.
