A sandbox account is a secure environment for testing and experimentation, fully isolated from your production Soldo account. You can safely replicate your production configuration without any impact on real operations. Changes made within the sandbox such as testing configurations, enabling features, adding users and cards, etc. remain entirely separate from your actual data. This allows you to explore and refine settings without the risk of affecting your day-to-day processes or using real money.
Take a look at the short introduction video below to discover some of the highlights of the sandbox feature.
If you're on one of our Unlimited plans, it’s really simple to get started. Ready to try? Click here for more information on how to activate your sandbox account.
What would I use a sandbox account for?
When you have a system in place that helps you manage your business processes, you may be reluctant to make changes to your system at risk of not knowing what the impact will be for your users, your workflows, etc. With a sandbox account, you can replicate your production account and then make changes or experiment with new configurations without affecting the system or data you already have in place. When you've validated your changes in the sandbox account you may then decide to replicate this in your production Soldo account.
Note: Remember that the data in your production account and your sandbox account are completely isolated from each other. You can safely make changes in each account without affecting the other. When your sandbox is activated, no data is copied from your production account so you have an entirely blank canvas to start experimenting with!
Here’s a small sample of things you may choose to use your sandbox account for:
- Testing new configurations.
- Activating and experimenting with new features.
- Creating cards, generating transactions and exploring different configurations of card rules
- Building and testing an API integration using the Soldo Business API.
- Training new employees on how to use Soldo.
FAQ's
Who is a sandbox account for?
This will depend on your specific use case but Super admins and Developers will certainly realise the benefits of the sandbox feature. Super admins can safely make changes and experiment with configurations before applying them on the production account. Developers can explore the Business API and build integrations without the worry of affecting production data. But sandbox is not limited to Super admins and Developers. You can also add new users to your sandbox account and provide them with access to this secure environment which can be beneficial for learning and training opportunities.
Can I transfer my data and configuration from my production account to my sandbox account?
Sandbox accounts are designed to provide a blank canvas, giving you the flexibility to explore many settings and configurations. As such, no data or configuration is copied from your production account. If you want to replicate your production configuration in your sandbox account you'll need to do this manually.
How many sandbox accounts can I have?
You can activate one sandbox per production account. To invite more users, simply add them as users after logging into the sandbox. The process for adding users in the sandbox is the same as in production. For a step-by-step guide, see this article: Add a new user.
